Foster's Sponsors The Laughs At This Year's British Comedy Awards

30th November 2012

Foster’s is reinforcing its links with comedy by extending its sponsorship of the prestigious British Comedy Awards for a third year. The 23rd British Comedy Awards will be screened live on Channel 4 on December 12 with show host Jonathan Ross.

The full list of nominees will be revealed during Channel 4’s Nomination show on December 2, ten days before the main event is broadcast live on Channel 4 from Fountain Studios in Wembley.

Six nominees for the prestigious People’s Choice Award for the King or Queen of Comedy – the only category where the viewers choose the winner – will be announced by the awards organisers, and telephone voting begins at the end of the nomination show and ends during the live show on December 12.

There are 11 categories in this year’s British Comedy Awards, including Best New Comedy Programme, Best Comedy Breakthrough Artist, Best Sitcom and Best Comedy Entertainment Personality.

Previous winners at the Awards include Ricky Gervais, Alan Carr, Miranda Hart, Stephen Fry, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Michael McIntyre, Peter Kay and Sarah Millican.

Gayle Harrison, Brand Director Mainstream Beer at HEINEKEN said, “Comedy plays an important role in the social lives of our core consumers, so we are delighted to be continuing our sponsorship of the British Comedy Awards. Foster’s continues to be the leading sponsor of comedy in the UK with a sponsorship portfolio that as well as these prestigious national awards includes over 100 hours of Original Comedy programming on Channel 4.”
