John Smith's, the UK's number one ale brand, is extending its long-running support for racing in its Yorkshire homeland through major new sponsorship agreements with the county's Doncaster and York racecourses announced today.

As the newly- installed Official Beer of Doncaster's Town Moor track, John Smith's is set to sponsor the opening day of the 2014 St Leger Festival and the John Smith's Extra Smooth May Hill Fillies Handicap along with selected races through the season &ndash beginning with the John Smith's Extra Smooth Maiden Stakes on March 30 at the popular William Hill Lincoln meeting. The new agreement will provide prominent branding at all of the track's C4 televised race days including the Racing Post Trophy and the November Handicap.

Brewed in Tadcaster for over 250 years, John Smith's has sponsored the 'Sport of Kings' since the first running of the John Smith's Magnet Cup at York in 1960. Officials at the famous Knavesmire course are today toasting a 2-year extension of this partnership that will take their long-running association to 2015 and the 56th renewal of the coveted John Smith's Cup.
