Covid - 19 A Message from David Forde, Managing Director, HEINEKEN UK
27 March 2020
These are truly extraordinary times. There isn’t one part of society that’s unaffected by COVID-19. And we all have a part to play in fighting this virus. At HEINEKEN UK, we’re adjusting to the huge changes in day to day life – for our colleagues, our pubs, our customers and our consumers.
I’ve assured all our colleagues that we’ll do everything we can to support them through the weeks and months ahead.
Our top priority is the safety, health and wellbeing of all of our colleagues. Colleagues based at our offices are working from home, no exceptions. Our production colleagues, who are continuing to brew beer, make cider and ensure delivery to shops up and down the country, are working under the strictest hygiene, safety and social distancing protocols. Let me be clear, we will never compromise the safety of our colleagues.
In light of school closures, we’ve reassured all of our colleagues, who have school age children, that we’ll offer as much support as possible during this period.
We also know this is an uncertain time for our 2,500 Star Pubs & Bars. We’re doing everything we can to help our pubs. We’ve suspended the collection of rent and associated charges until at least the end of April, and will make sure they’re making full use of the additional support made available by Government.
We’re working round the clock to make sure our wider customer base, the pubs, bars and restaurants of the UK, are supported. We’ve been in contact, with advice and support, with every one of the pubs we supply. Of course, we’ll continue to monitor and adjust our help, support and response.
All the latest guidance from HEINEKEN UK is available here.
We need to look after ourselves, our families and each other. No matter how difficult things appear now, we will get through this.
We’re all in this together.
David Forde, MD HEINEKEN UK
