Long Live the Local

Pubs aren’t just a place to drink, they're at the heart of our communities.

But between business rates, VAT and beer duty British pubs are struggling.

The beer and pub industry already contributes to the UK economy, generating £23bn towards UK GDP each year and supporting over 900,000 jobs. However, beer tax in Britain is three times more than the average in Europe and one in every three pounds spent in pubs goes to the taxman.

A cut in beer tax could pay for itself by keeping pubs open and boosting taxes from higher employment.

To keep our pubs thriving, we need to help them.
