    New lessees taking on tied pubs with Star Pubs & Bars and existing lessees taking on new pubs with Star will see their ingoing costs slashed by 60-70% following the launch of a radical new fixtures and fittings policy which will see the company own big ticket items such as ovens, fridges and grills, helping save lessees' capital, improve cash flow and create more sustainable businesses.

    The initiative, which applies to business start up agreements and three year rolling leases, is a new departure for the leased pub sector and will be especially beneficial to those lessees wanting to run food focussed pubs, where equipment start up costs can be very high.   6. Border Reiver given a new lease of life with major £360K investment

    The Border Reiver in Sandfield Park, Carlisle is closing on 6th April for a major £360k refurbishment by Star Pubs & Bars, HEINEKEN¹s pub business and lessees Tony and Michelle Greerson, which will transform the pub into a family friendly pub offering traditional pub food and a new coffee lounge offering authentic Italian coffee.

    The pub reopens in early June, creating seven new jobs and it will be renamed The Reiver. It will be open all day and will be the only pub in the area to offer coffee and wi-fi, to serve food and to put on live entertainment.
