    HEINEKEN today announces that it will invest a further £20 million upgrading its Star Pubs & Bars estate across the UK in 2017, taking its total expenditure on pubs to c.£100m over the last five years.  The biggest winners will be rural and suburban pubs with around £10m earmarked to transform them into great local pubs, introducing food and coffee, for the whole community to enjoy.

  10. Local Darlington based pub operator, D&G Pub Company, and Star Pubs & Bars, HEINEKEN’s pub business, are together investing over £300k in refurbishments of two Darlington pubs – The Wheatsheaf in Yarm Road and The George in Bondgate.

    Work began this week on the refurbishment of The Wheatsheaf, which will be closed until 21st August. The modernisation of the pub will broaden its appeal transforming it into a great family friendly dining pub offering all-day food, coffee and Sky sports. 10 jobs will be created as a result.
