We love pubs
For many of us, the pub is a home away from home. So, high-quality, well invested pubs run by great licensees are good news for everybody. Our licensees and operators have access to the UK’s leading portfolio of iconic beer and cider brands. All backed by our industry insights, exclusive discounts and a wealth of training and advice. Taken together we call it our Five Star Promise and it’s our commitment to helping them do what they do best: being the star behind their pub or bar.

Supporting our industry
We work closely with industry organisations such as the BBPA, UK Hospitality, BII and Long Live the Local to reduce the regulatory burden on pubs.
We also tirelessly campaign on behalf of licensees to cut the excessive burden of business rates, reduce tax on beer and cider and promote the important role that pubs play at the heart of communities across the country.

Our commitment to pubs
Pubs have long been a great British tradition – and it’s one we’re determined to keep alive. That’s why we’re putting our money where our mouth is and investing in pubs up and down the country to help bring out their individuality and make them even better.
In the last five years we’ve invested over £205m in transforming and refreshing our pubs. In 2023 we aim to invest £40m to ensure we keep the great British pub alive for generations to come

Sustainability
It’s through our Star Pubs & Bars business that we have a valued connection with local communities. Likewise, our pubs provide communities with social hubs.
Working with third-party partners, as well as making good progress towards measuring our carbon footprint baseline, we also started identifying ways to improve. While we’ve achieved much in a relatively short time, we’ve only just begun this journey and, as we move towards our net zero commitments, there’s much we must continue to address.
